Matthew Hughes is an expressive and talented cinematographer whose experience ranges from narrative films and music videos to commercials and documentaries.
Since graduating from Columbia College in 2002, he has been freelancing in the Chicago area on a wide variety of productions. His thoughtful and innovative approach to lighting and composition serves to further the emotional and subtextual meaning of a scene, and his resourcefulness and flexibility under pressure result in an efficient and creatively rewarding collaboration.
He is currently in development or preproduction on several projects, including the new Balanced Productions feature, directed by Niles Maxwell. He also works as a studio technician at the Big Ten Network.
